n I AM writing on behalf of everybody at Worcester City Football Club to thank you for the fantastic publicity and support for the football club's ambition to obtain the modern facilities for its survival.
Can I also use your newspaper to thank the 10,500 people who kindly signed the recent petition? It is true to say that hardly anybody we encountered was against the proposed relocation plan linking a B&Q to a new stadium at Nunnery Way.
It was also evident we could have probably tripled the numbers signing the petition if we had chosen to devote more time to this issue.
After 10 years of hard work, I was delighted that the city councillors have now recognised there is no possibility of Worcester City FC relocating without the help of suitable enabling development.
The 23-6 vote in changing the Local Draft Plan has truly been a marvellous Christmas present to the club, although I recognise that there are still many hurdles to overcome.
