DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a three-year old child have released a man and a woman from Bromsgrove on police bail.
Further enquiries are still being made in respect to the death of toddler Christian Blewitt and detectives are consulting with medical experts and senior lawyers from the Crown Prosecution Service.
The couple had been arrested on December 19 and Kidderminster Magistrates Court granted a 36-hour extension to question them further.
However, they were released on the night of December 21.
Detectives at Redditch police station questioned the couple, who had been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Three-year old Christian Blewitt was in the care of Sandwell Social Services when he was admitted to Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley on December 8.
He was later transferred to Birmingham Children's Hospital and died on December 12.
The post mortem examination into his death was carried out on December 13 and has shown Christian died as a result of head injuries.
Detectives are also awaiting the results of toxicology and histology tests.
