DROITWICH Dolphins Swimming Club rounded off 2002 with flying colours whilst competing in the third and final round of the Speedo League last week.

Once again they took first and second place in half of all the events, which delighted the home supporters.

Ian James and Rachel Roberts got the home team off to a flying start when they both finished second in the Open 4 x 1 individual medley event. James also set a new Club record in the process.

The 15 years and under team excelled themselves with outstanding performances from Rachel Roberts who won both the 100m breastroke and butterfly and Alex Dunn who won the freestlye and finished second in the backstroke.

They were joined by Fiona Watt and Natalie Clifford to win both the freestyle and medley relay events.

The boy's team of Charles Fisher, Tom Ackrill, Michael Pattison and Sam Fowles also won the medley relay. Fisher took second place in both the freestlye and backstroke individual events.

The younger girls also had some excellent swims with Alexis Collier winning the 50m backstroke and taking second place in the 50m frontcrawl. Rebecca Mullet also took second place in the individual breastroke.

They were joined by Fizz Hunter and Danielle Morrison to win the medley relay and take second place in the freestyle event. In the 13 years and under age group, Fiona Watt took first place in the 100m freestyle and second place in the butterfly.

The 11 years and under boys team of Laurence Mann, Ross McGuiness, Tom Christie amd Ben Bower finished second overall in the freestyle relay.

In the Open age group Ian James also finished second in the individual freestyle. C. Fisher, Fowles, D. Hull, Emily Bower, Roberts and Dunn were second in the medley relay.

The final event of the evening was the ladies cannon in which Dunn, Bower, Clifford, Hull, Watt and Roberts powered home to take the final victory of the evening.
