TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular Kidderminster trader who has died aged 62.

June Roehead, who ran Spot Cash second-hand goods store on Blackwell Street, passed away suddenly on Boxing Day with a clot on the lung.

Bubbly Mrs Roehead, known for her good nature, was due to retire in March, said daughter Caroline Powell.

Caroline said: "She was hoping to get a little job. I have never known my mum do anything but work.

"She was such a popular woman. We have been overwhelmed by the calls we have received in the last few days."

Mrs Roehead, who lived in Bewdley for many years, set up the business with her then partner and later to be second husband Bob 10 years ago.

They also established second-hand store Priceland which is adjacent to Spot Cash.

In 1998 June and Bob married. Sadly he died nine months later.

The business was then split with June running Spot Cash and step-son David running Priceland.

David will now take over the reins of Spot Cash to keep the firm in the family.

June leaves daughters Caroline and Mandy and grandchildren Vince, Craig, Sophie and Megan.
