POLICE are appealing for witnesses after thieves broke into a newsagent's shop in Ombersley in the early hours of the morning and stole cigarettes worth £1,000.
It is believed that two cars, one red and one white, were involved in the theft from The Gallies, on Main Road, which happened at about 4.40am.
Anyone with any information about the raid, or anyone who knows the whereabouts of the stolen cigarettes, or who thinks they may have been offered them for sale, should contact the police on 08457 444888, quoting c/655749.
