STONEMASONS are hard at work on phase five of the £10m restoration of Worcester Cathedral.

Martin Reynolds has been working on the capital west window in the West elevation.

The capital is a decorative piece of stone that sits below the arch at the top of the window. It is designed to throw water away from the building. Phase five should be completed by the end of March and can be viewed from College Green.

It is part of the continuing project to renovate the Cathedral, which was described in the 1980s as "the English Cathedral in the worst physical condition".
