A DECADE of being the caretaker at a Bromyard school has come to an end for Mick Hick.
The former soldier and fireman, who has also been a painter and decorator, has squeezed his mop for the last time, but leaves behind many fond memories.
In his 10 years working for Queen Elizabeth High School, Mr Hick encouraged reluctant learners to play a part in school life and he always had a willing band of helpers.
Headteacher Pat Jewkes said Mr Hick was an integral part of the school's day-to-day life.
"A lasting memory of Mick will be his performances on stage at the end-of-term student entertainment.
"After his appearance in blue tights and a red cape, Superman will never be the same again."
