FOUR burglaries took place in Malvern during the 48 hours from New Year's Eve.
Police say three of the properties were burgled as a result of owners leaving doors and windows open. Property stolen included handbags.
PC Mike Stephenson, crime risk officer for the area, said: "At this time of year, burglars know that there are a lot of opened Christmas presents, please don't make it easy for them to be stolen.
"It may seem obvious, but always lock doors and windows before you go out and don't leave the spare key 'hidden' outside".
At a fourth property in Somers Road burglars forced entry. It is not yet known what was taken.
Anyone with information about the burglaries or stolen property can ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or police on 08457 444 888.
