THERE must be hundreds of people in and around Ledbury who, like myself, were devastated to learn that Senior Sister Roig had resigned from her post at Ledbury hospital (Ledbury Reporter, December 20).
Sister Sue (as she is affectionately known) has given long and devoted service to this community. Her admin/nursing skills, leadership, compassion and kindness have been greatly appreciated. Why did she find it necessary to resign? True to her profession, she has not disclosed the reason.
We all know that nationally there is an acute shortage of nurses and ancillary staff. It seems, however, that Shaw Homes executive management is unconcerned it has lost a very loyal sister who was the kingpin of the nursing staff. One wonders if other resignations will follow.
