IN reply to Europhile Barrie Dobson (You Say, Monday, December 23), I would say yes, the people of the UK voted for a change in government, but they also voted on the strength of promises from New Labour on health, education, transport and many other things. None of these has been delivered.
In Germany, a growing number of people now wish to leave the EC. Meanwhile, in France, pensions will soon become unaffordable and grind to a halt.
For those people who no longer want to remain English, it's only a short distance for them to go to Europe.
I am sure that they would be replaced by the thousands queuing up to come to this terrible country of ours.
BRIAN HUNT, Worcester.
