KIND-hearted people who have a few hours to spare are being urged to help older people with sight and hearing difficulties.
Worcestershire Volunteer Guide Help Scheme, managed by Sense, recently set up a new scheme in Worcestershire to provide company and support to people whose lives are restricted by poor sight and hearing.
Worcestershire people who have a few hours to spare are being asked to help an older person with activities such as shopping, reading, going out or simply having a chat.
"The Volunteer Guide Help Scheme is run by Worcestershire County Council Social Services and the national deaf blind charity, Sense," said Lucy Black, co-ordinator at the Volunteer Guide Help Scheme.
"We have been granted funding by the county council and we are based at social services' offices in Worcestershire.

"The scheme has been up and running since July when I came into my post.
"It's going very well, we've had a lot of interest but we really still need more volunteers."
Training support will be provided for volunteers and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
