KANNER were involved in two exciting matches in division one of the Worcester Table Tennis League, but ended up losing both of them 6-4.
Against Rainbow, Kanner found both Wayne Chopping and Trevor Simmons in good form and they won two singles each.
Pete Griffiths was involved in all three games which required a fifth set.
He beat Brian Holyman 11-4, but lost to Alex Westwood 11-7.
In partnership with Chopping, Griffiths won the doubles 11-3. Westwood and Chris Metti both won two singles for Kanner.
Against YMCA Thunderbirds, five of the games required a deciding set.
Dave Harvey won his three singles for YM, but was taken to a fifth set by Metti.
After losing 11-9 in the fifth to Metti, Sarah Thatcher won her first game of the season by beating Westwood 11-6 in the fifth set, and Andy Barlow in four sets. James Bewley won YM's sixth game by beating Westwood 8-11, 11-9, 4-11, 17-15, 11-9.
Metti won two singles for Kanner, Andy Barlow won one and Westwood and Metti were successful in the doubles.
Cripplegate Roamers consolidated second place with a 10-0 win against YMCA Hornets, although Pete Stevens and Dave Williams both took Chris Maiden to a fifth set.
