A REGISTER of listed buildings at risk will soon be published by Malvern Hills District Council.
The council's planning department has made a survey of all 1,830 listed buildings in the district.
It found that 70 of them were at risk of loss through neglect, and 24 more were vulnerable.
Most of them are buildings which have become redundant, such as farm buildings and dovecotes.
The results of the survey are being compiled into a register that will include all the buildings in poor condition, and those likely to fall into poor condition as they are empty or unused.
The register will soon be published, both on paper and on the council's website, and will include photographs of the buildings, where this is agreed by the owners.
It will form the basis of the council's building-at-risk strategy, which will list them according to categories.
Priority will be given to buildings deemed vulnerable, but which can be brought into good repair with little work. New uses will also be sought for redundant buildings at risk.
