YOUNG musicians will be gathering at the Grove junior and infant schools, Malvern for a range of classes from next week.

The sessions, which begin on Monday, are part of the Malvern Area Music Centre organised by the county council's Worcestershire Youth Music Service.

Singers and budding orchestral musicians from the age of zero up to nine are catered for by the weekly classes.

On Monday there are two early years sessions in the Infant School Library.

Malvern Miniatures runs from 1.45pm to 2.15pm and caters for three to five year olds.

Tuneful Tots follows from 2.15pm until 2.45pm, serving toddlers from zero to three years old.

Older children, aged five to seven, meet in the Junior School from 3.45pm to 4.45pm for Musical Monkeys, while in addition a music theory session runs from 4pm to 5pm.

On Tuesday the orchestral side of the centre gets underway.

Beginners up to Grade Three standard are welcome to the Junior Strings and Concert Band in the Junior School from 4pm to 5pm.

Each term finishes with an informal performance and there are other opportunities to join other ensembles for a concert at Symphony Hall, Birmingham in May.
