A DECISION on whether to reopen a Worcester clinic, which offered separate measles, mumps and rubella injections, has been delayed.

Deborah Ryding, founder of the Desumo clinic, met with representatives from the National Care Standards Agency yesterday in a bid to find out why the order had been made.

It meant some 230 children will miss out on a vaccination this Saturday.

The Commission, which inspects independent hospitals and care homes, has told the clinic to stop vaccinating children until its registration is processed.

However, Mrs Ryding, from Ledbury, said it was not sent an application form to register. But after meeting with officials yesterday, Mrs Ryding was no nearer to solving the problem.

Annoying

"We met with officials in Worcester and after assessing our situation they told us they would require additional information," she said.

"It is a bit annoying because if we had known everything they required us to have we could have taken the stuff with us to the meeting."

Mrs Ryding said stumbling blocks for processing the application also included references from banks and a personal referee, which are currently in the pipeline.

"We're hoping to send everything to them by courier later on this week," she said.

"Hopefully they will then have everything they could possibly want from us and we can resolve the problem quickly."

She hopes to hold the next clinic at the Stanley Road centre on Saturday, March 22.
