WORCESTER Perdiswell Park's Winter Golf League came to a close when Ray Day outshone the league leaders with a round of 37 points.
He was five clear of Roy Turner in second place and John Fogwill in third.
The front runners were not able to get to grips with the unforgiving hard greens, and Day's pitch and run approach proved successful.
Alan Maund's sixth place on the day lifted him from fifth overall into third place, with Kevin Barnes the overall winner.
James Newman sadly had to retire after the seventh round die to a broken arm, without which he would surely have given Barnes a closer run for the trophy.
Final placings: 1 Kevin Barnes 270pts, 2 Roy Turner 252, 3 Alan Maund 251, 4 Brian Hodgetts 247, 5 Ron Milbourne 243, 6 Chris Case 231, 7 Cyril Misters 229, 8 James Newman 201, 9 Ray Day 163, 10 John Fogwill 163.
