A Worcestershire Euro-MP has attacked the Government and European Commission following a report highlighting the mismanagement of European funds.
Philip Bradbourn said the Pohjamo Report on the spending of the Commission's 2001 budget named and shamed Britain in one amendment.
He said the Government was criticised for not taking up funds it had committed to in its original estimates.
"I have been highlighting this incompetence in our region for months now," he said.
"The reason we voted against this report was to show our total dissatisfaction with the Commission for the way they cannot account for their money."
"This report damned both the Commission and the UK Government for their complete ineptitude in accessing money to which our region is due," he added.
