AN elderly woman, whom detectives suspected was murdered, died of natural causes an inquest has heard.
Retired cleaner Daisy Garrod was found dead in her Kidderminster home by her son Stuart on Monday, February 24.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder at the Canterbury Road address, but police confirmed the person had been released without charge and the incident was no longer being treated as suspicious.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round, speaking at Stourport-on-Severn Coroners Court yesterday said the 83-year-old had died of natural causes.
Post mortem and further tests revealed the cause of death was pneumonia with contributory congestive cardiac failure. A verdict of death by natural causes was recorded.
