Studley Parish Council have demanded that a village street should be sign-posted after five years of anonymity.
The street in question, Albert Close, has stood without a name sign since it was first constructed behind the village High Street in 1973.
Councillors spoke of the chaos suffered by crews of ambulances, meals-on-wheels and other services going astray while searching for the unmarked street.
"We've been asking the district council to provide a sign for a long time," remarked parish clerk Mr Jim Clarke.
"The last we heard, there was one on order.
"This is just to make sure they haven't forgotten about it."
