REDDITCH Ladies Hockey Club have their best chance of getting off the foot of the Midlands Region Hockey Womens League Conference at the weekend.
The Bromsgrove Road team entertain county rivals Bournville in what could prove to be a relegation decider.
League bosses have not decided details of relegation from the Conference yet but a plan to relegate the lowest placed of the two sides promoted from the Worcestershire County League has been mooted.
If that idea were to be approved, Redditch only have to finish above Bournville - who they trail by a point with three games to play - to beat the drop.
The Ladies went down 2-0 to Aldridge Seconds at the weekend but Bournville also lost to Derby Asterdale Ladies to maintain the status quo at the bottom.
Redditch are still searching for their first league win and have managed only two draws this season.
Another stalemate would probably not be enough to catch Bournville, who have a significantly better goal difference.
