DEAR EDITOR - In response to the Barnt Green Station editorial in a recent Advertiser/Messenger, about the reduction in charges at the station car park.
Well, I get the train every day and I am also one of the drivers who park in the side roads because of the charges.
Back in January, parish councillors invited representatives from Central Trains to a meeting with residents and traders and they offered to reduce the charge down to £1.
A number of shop owners from Hewell Lane, who spoke to your newspaper, said they were yet to see any improvements.
Well it is hardly suprising as Centro is yet to amend the parking charge and there are no signs informing of any change or when it is going to happen.
All the other car parks on that route to Birmingham New Street are free - Northfield, Kings Norton and Selly Oak. So why not Barnt Green?
That way everybody would use the car park, including shoppers just nipping in to Barnt Green.
Mrs M O'Neill,
Barnt Green.
