DEAR EDITOR - I was horrified to read in the article entitled 'Councillor fails selec-tion' in your edition dated February 19, that the Alvechurch branch of the Conservative Party voted not to choose Councillor Mrs Jean Luck as one of three candidates to con-test the seat in the next election.
There is no doubt, in my opinion, that Cllr Luck is one of the most hard-working councillors in the Bromsgrove district and certainly not one who is afraid to voice her views and care for those she represents.
She is an honourable and experienced councillor and her loss will not only affect Alvechurch but many for whom she has worked diligently.
One hears the question all too often "does honour, integrity and hard work stand for nothing these days?"
I now find myself repeating that question.
If Cllr Luck fails to be selected by the Conservative Party, which appears to be in total disarray, perhaps we may see her standing in the next election as an Independent candidate.

Old Birmingham Road,
Bromsgrove
