DEAR EDITOR - I am writing a letter for the first time ever to your newspaper in reply to your article on the proposed increases in Council Tax. As a pensioner who has just been given a one and a half per cent increase, I am absolutely disgusted at the huge increases we are expected to pay - 12.97 per cent from the county council, 5.4 per cent from the district council, both Tory controlled, and also 12.61 per cent from West Mercia Police.

This is to my mind really disgusting and unfair and how on earth are we expected to pay it?

I would urge your readers to register their opposition to this in the forthcoming elections and vote accordingly.
