TRADITIONAL sugar and lemon was the favourite accompaniment to pancakes for tots at a Rubery nursery, yesterday (Tuesday).
Youngsters at the Village Nursery in New Road helped celebrate Shrove Tuesday by tucking in to stacks of pancakes after helping supervisors to make them. While sugar and lemon proved a winning filling for most, some tots plumped for jam.
After the feast, left-over pancakes were used in a race. Children had to navigate an obstacle course while carrying a frying pan, they were also shown how to flip pancakes.
Nursery manager Tracey Williams said: "The children absolutely loved it."
flipping crazy: Connor Heath, aged three, and Niamh Lahert, four, flip over a delicious pancake.
