AN 'effective and dedicated' Droitwich Spa councillor has resigned.
Wychavon district councillor Keith Rogers has decided not to stand in the May elections.
The Labour politician has served the West ward for the past four years, and is a former Spa town councillor.
He has remained tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding his decision and would only tell the Advertiser: "May is fast catching up and I am not feeling very well at the moment."
The Primsland resident was former deputy chair of Wychavon and chairman of Droitwich Spa High School's board of governors.
Labour leader at Wychavon District Council, Cllr Roy Seabourne (West) described his colleague as an effective and dedicated councillor, who would be missed in his ward and at the district council.
"I very much regret that he felt he had to resign," added Cllr Seabourne.
"However, I fully respect his decision and wish him well."
