YOUNG sports enthusiasts at a Belbroughton school were put through their paces by a professional cricket player this week.

Tom Grove, from Worcestershire County Cricket Club, passed on some valuable tips to the youngsters at Belbroughton C of E First School. Headteacher Joan Holford said: "The children have had a wonderful time.

"He trained the children, aged eight and nine, on three separate occasions in school time and we have put on extra sessions out of school hours for the younger pupils."

She said the training had been successful and that it was a pleasure to see the children receive top coaching from a professional cricketer.
