Cleobury Mortimer 16 pts
Redditch 0
CLEOBURY Mortimer gave a solid team performance to outplay an improving Redditch side and claim a victory which keeps them in a challenging fourth position in the North Midlands 1 league table.
Fly-half Willie Bache directed play well and utilised the powerful running of Paul Hulland, Ian King and Chris Phillips to keep Redditch fully occupied as Cleobury employed sensible tactics to run the ball against a strong wind. Colin Smith landed a penalty and Hulland took advantage of good line-out possession from Rob Kirton to drive over for an unconverted try.
After the break Cleobury changed their tactics and pegged Redditch back into their own 22 metre area with judicious kicking.
Left winger Richard Skimmer side-stepped his way over for a fine individual try, and Smith completed a comfortable win with a late penalty.
