PLANS to review security at the Alexandra Hospital have been announced after concerns over the safety of staff in the A&E department were raised during an inspection.
A report by the Commission for Health Improvement stated security in the A&E unit was poor.
It added the lack of adequate security and CCTV cameras had resulted in verbal and physical attacks on staff.
Redditch and Bromsgrove Community Health Council has welcomed the plans to improve security.
Chief officer Moira Morris said there was a CCTV camera in the maternity ward with a monitor in the administration section of the unit.
