A SCHOOLGIRL wore a smile after coming second in a national T-shirt competition.
Meggie Morton was runner-up out of 500 entries.
She came up with her funky, thought-provoking design for the competition run by World Vision and high street fashion store Kookai.
The aim of the competition was to raise awareness for World Vision's "24-hour famine" held between Friday and Sunday, February 21-23, to draw attention to world hunger.
"I entered the competition because I thought it would be really worthwhile," said
14-year-old Meggie, from Upper Sapey, near Tenbury Wells.
"I want to be a fashion designer when I'm older, designing clothes for DKNY or Calvin Klein."
The judging panel included designers and buyers from Kookai and the winner of Channel 4 reality TV show Model Behaviour, Jenny Richards.
"It was a really difficult decision - we had so many great entries," said Miss Richards.
"Meggie's design really deserved to be runner-up.
"It had a cool urban feel while still drawing inspiration from the 24-hour famine."
The 24-hour famine has been run by World Vision since 1986 and has raised millions for people in developing countries by teenagers going hungry for 24 hours.
