THE Thrift Shop, a feature of Cleobury High Street for many years, is closing down at the end of the month. But big bargains are still on offer until March 29.
For the past five years the shop has supported the Discovery Centre in Uganda, a shared venture between the Adventure Projects Trust in the UK and Youth With a Mission in Uganda.
Funds raised have helped build a 40-bed activity centre for orphans and disadvantaged children at Jinja, near Lake Victoria, a location for outdoor activities and sports to help them build experiences often taken for granted in the UK.
Announcing the closure, the trustees thank everyone in Cleobury Mortimer and beyond for supporting the shop, especially all the volunteers who have made it work so well.
The shop was not just a bargain basement, it was also a popular meeting place.
