ARTS THEATRE CLUB: At the first meeting of 2003, members were entertained by an illustrated talk on Corsica given by Nicholas Clark, who lived there with his family for a year, and subsequently spent several summer holidays exploring the island which is full of dramatic mountain and coastal scenery.

The chairman reminded members that this was the club's 40th anniversary, as it was established in 1963 to raise funds for the Swan Theatre, Worcester. To celebrate the occasion a cruise from Tewkesbury, on the River Avon, with a strawberry cream tea, was being arranged for June. Visits were also planned to the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham, on March 27 to see the Moscow Ballet in Don Quixote, and to the Malvern Theatre in April to see Michael Frayn's play, Noises Off.

The next evening meeting will be on Friday, March 21, at 7.30pm St Agatha's Hall, when Mrs M Harvington will give a talk on the Chateaux of the Loire. This will be the last meeting at St Agatha's Hall, as from April meetings will be in the new Town Hall, in the High Street. Visitors and new members are always welcome. FLOWER CLUB: The February meeting on Wednesday, February 19, was well attended. The chairman Mrs Jill Millard introduced the demonstrator, who was the very popular Mr Bob Harris from Gloucester. His demonstration was entitled Munches and Bunches. As the title suggests there were flower arrangements and some cookery. The flowers were lovely and the food cooked included sweetcorn fritter salad and cous cous with King prawn and apricots. Mrs Val Wylde gave the vote of thanks.

The next meeting is at St Wulstans Hall on March 19 and the demonstrator is Carola Wilson from Ledbury with her interpretation of Celtic Mist.
