THE first major stage production of Alan Bennett's Office Suite will appear at the RSC in Stratford on Monday.
Alan Bennett, possibly the greatest living writer about the English, acutely observes the foibles, failings and funny ways of characters, which will be presented on stage at the RST.
The double-bill Office Suite captures the comic sight of the English at work and in retirement and stars two big names, Lesley Joseph and Edward Hardwicke.
In A Visit from Miss Prothero, Hardwicke plays Mr Dodsworth, a man dozing in his armchair which is as worn, comfortable and cosy as he is.
Miss Prothero, played by Joseph, breezes into his life and is neither warm, comfortable or cosy.
In Green Forms, Bennett takes a slice of office life and gives us the dynamic duo, Doris and Doreen, in a sharp-witted picture of office routine.
Office Suite, presented by Theatre Royal Productions, runs at the RST from Monday, March 3 to Saturday, March 8. Tickets are available from the ticket hotline on 0870 609 1110.
