HOCKEY: Three players scored two goals each as Stourport Ladies thrashed Evesham 8-1 in Worcestershire League Division One.
Stourport's domination began within eight minutes when Wilma Martin scored though Evesham levelled swiftly from a short corner.
But keeper Fran Hinett was not called into any more action as Vicky Bristow, Kate Bailey and Sarah Bentley (two) notched up a 5-1 lead by the break.
Fran Long added a sixth after the interval before Martin and Bailey added their second goals in a 10-minute period.
Stourport hope to maintain their winning ways at home to Camp Hill on Saturday after scoring 16 goals from two matches.
Old Sils 1 Stourport 2nds 0
A simple break-away goal on eight minutes decided this Worcestershire League Division Two encounter.
Louise Bagnall and Rosie Connolly put the keeper under pressure on several occasions but Stourport were unable to put a shot on target.
They pressed in the second half but found the experienced Old Sils defence difficult to break down, even from short corners.
Atherstone 9 Stourport 3rds 0
A side full of juniors with several making their senior debuts were unable to cope with strong opposition in a friendly.
Atherstone's passing caused problems from the start and Stourport struggled to deal with it.
Though they defended bravely, the visitors were 5-0 down by the break and were clearly out-classed overall.
Fixtures, Saturday: Stourport 1sts v Camp Hill (2pm), Cresconians v 2nds, 3rds v Malvern (12.30pm).
