BOWLING: The Tornadoes trio of Rose Bradley, Tony Crowley and Ian Davis blew away Wribbenhall with a 27-0 first-half lead in the Gilt Edge Short Mat League.
But the second half was tighter, thanks to the good bowling of Wribbenhall skipper John Thompson, though Tornadoes still triumphed 40-5.
At the bottom of the table, Dire Straits lost both games but put up a fight.
They led Blakedown after four ends but eventually lost 22-9 before tackling second-placed Invincibles.
Straits lost the first half 20-1 but contended a closer second period only for a hot-shot six from Bob Sharman, Dave Hall and Pauline Hall to ease the higher-placed opposition through.
Brintons B had a mixed game against third placed Chester Road, falling apart to lose 26-15 after leading at the halfway stage.
Crusaders gained a much-needed 26-10 victory over Aces with Brian Taylor, Adam Flood and Sandie Flood leading them home spectacularly.

On the county scene, Worcestershire Premier side beat Shropshire in the Consolation Cup quarter-finals 22-14 and 197-153 on shots.
