CHESS: Kidderminster's Mark Riley scored an excellent victory for Worcestershire's first team against Derbyshire at Spondon.
The only other Wyre Forest player, secretary and skipper Maurice Bissell, was less fortunate as he was beaten from a drawn position under time pressure.
Worcestershire's 9.5-6.5 defeat was hit by several defaults as Bissell could not find reserves after two competitors dropped out.
In Division One of the Worcestershire League, Kidderminster were beaten 3.5-2.5 at Worcester.
Results (Kidderminster first): John Wrench 0.5, E Myers 0.5; Bissell 0.5, A Taylor 0.5; Dave Close 0.5, S Mellor 0.5; Riley 0, J Keene 1; John Gittus 0.5, R Collett 0.5; Paul Thomas 0.5, A Spittle 0.5.
