PUB-GOERS at a Stourport watering hole could soon see a new first aid unit in the town thanks to their generosity.
Punters at the Astley Cross Inn have collected £8,094 over four years but they still have a little way to go to reach the £9,100 target to buy a new purpose-built mobile unit for the town's British Red Cross group.
Red Cross transport officer Tony Penzer said: "We are very close to the target. The unit would be of great benefit in and around the local community. I would like to thank the generosity of local people."
Mr Penzer said his group is also looking for new members and anyone interested in joining should call him on 01299 826481 or 01299 829657.
