THE official music ambassador for New Orleans, Lillian Boutte, will be holding a gospel workshop in Evesham in May.
But organisers have said they desperately need sponsorship for the event to make the workshop accessible to all.
Ms Boutte is an international jazz, blues and gospel singer and was the first New Orleans musician to be named its official music ambassador since Louis Armstrong.
Organiser Sue Hughes said Evesham Town Council has agreed to support the event because they realise it will raise Evesham's profile across the West Midlands but the Arts for All lottery funding body was unable to help.
She said in order for as many people as possible to enjoy the workshop, she would like to offer subsidised rates for young people and senior citizens.
Anyone who would like to help with sponsorship, or further details, should contact Sue Hughes at 21 Collinsfield, Evesham, Worcestershire, WR11 4NQ.
