THE Stilton registered Parrot Print TAL made its 2003 cycle racing debut in the 31st edition of the Severn Valley road race on a circuit under the shadow of the mighty Severn suspension bridge.
Worcester's Dring brothers and Gavin Poupart on his sparkling new Orbea bike certainly made their presence noticed in a very animated race that was blessed with a very sunny day. Ironically the day before it had rained quite heavily.
Despite the trio's efforts they could not get clear for long and 38 riders contested the finish where nine riders went clear on the last lap and Paul Dring, Poupart and Steve Dring led the bunch in being placed 17th, 19th and 23rd respectively
Saturday sees five riders contesting the Fenland Clarion event on the local Great Gidding circuit. Roger Morgan (fresh from a Canaries training camp) makes his team debut and is backed by Danny Axford, Poupart and the Dring brothers.
