WORCESTER NORTON 4 KINGS HEATH PICKWICK 2

WITH four games to go in the DTZ Midlands Division One, the maths are simple for Worcester - win every game and promotion is secured.

Worcester started brightly and created problems with the pace of South African internationals Neil Davids and Marvin Bam, as well as Jon Sprague.

Against the run of play Kings Heath were awarded a free hit just outside the circle and poor marking allowed the visitors to scramble the ball home.

After this it was one-way traffic for the rest of the half and Worcester scored through a Chris Adams short corner and a Davids penalty flick.

The second half saw Worcester spend most of the time on the attack. Bam scored after fine work from Sprague gave him an open goal, and moments later the favour was returned as Bam broke into the opposition circle and rounded the 'keeper before squaring for Sprague to score.

The home side created numerous other chances but conceded a poor goal from a short corner with only 30 seconds left.

Captain Ian Ewers said: "A win is a win and the points maintain our promotion slot, but conceding a goal like that is just not professional and may well end up being the difference between being promoted as champions and just being promoted."

Worcester entertain Nottingham-based West Bridgford on Saturday at Nunnery Wood Sports Centre (1.30).

WORCESTER NORTON 3rd 4 KINGS HEATH PICKWICK 1

In this DTZ fixture Worcester took the lead when Hooper slotted in from a short corner.

Sharratt twisted and turned to create a easy chance for Chambers. Hooper again converted to make it 3-0 before Pickwick pulled one back.

Worcester dominated the second half with a further goal from Chambers and a great defensive performance from Glen Barnes.

STOURPORT 4th 2

WORCESTER NORTON 4th 3

Worcester took victory in their biggest DTZ game of the season.

After 15 minutes a fast break down the right set up Martin Hall to fire Worcester in front.

Stourport levelled through Godfrey Lamb from a controversial short corner. But an exquisite reverse stick through ball from Ewan Bell set up Ian Dyson to place the ball past the 'keeper.

Stourport rallied at half-time and Lamb levelled again. But Dyson finished well to get his second goal and clinch victory.

LEEK 1 WORCESTER NORTON 6th 1

Worcester started poorly and after five minutes found themselves behind with a good strike by the Leek centre forward.

Worcester did not drop their heads, and after sustained pressure eventually equalised when Alex Bowyer's cross was swept home by Chris Wiggins.

WORCESTER NORTON 7th 2 WEDNESBURY 1

In a flowing game Worcester had the best of the first-half but good goalkeeping denied them.

After the break they scored through Adrian Shipley, but Wednesbury equalised soon after in a scramble. Colin Newman scored a delightful goal from the top of the circle to clinch a deserved win.

DROITWICH 1 WORCESTER BADGERS 2

For the first time in three weeks Worcester fielded a first-choice side and Mark Evans gave them the lead with a well-taken goal from a quick counter attack.

Matt Brace made it 2-0 with a penalty flick. Droitwich came back strongly to reduce the arrears but Worcester held on.

n Kidderminster's ladies continued their impressive form in the Worcestershire League Division Three with a 7-0 away win over Bromsgrove thirds.

They are five points clear with three games left so look like taking the one promotion spot.

The men's thirds lost 1-0 at home to Bridgnorth through a scrappy late goal.
