For the first time the county federation is organising an event as part of Science Week in March, aiming to show that science is both fun and relevant to everyone's daily lives.
Science A La Carte will be presented by Dr Peter Barham, a writer on the science of cooking.
He will demonstrate the physics of the Black Forest Gateau in the morning, followed by a chance for members to ask questions.
After lunch there will be an opportunity for members to try out varied practical demonstrations and hands-on experiences of aspects of everyday science.
The event takes place on Wednesday from 10am until 3pm at the Perdiswell Young People's Leisure Club, Droitwich Road, Worcester.
Non-members will be welcome.
For tickets and more information telephone WI House on 01905 227575.
