AN elderly Kidderm-inster woman at the centre of a murder probe actually died of natural causes, an inquest ruled.
Police launched an investigation after 83-year-old Daisy Garrod was found dead by her son Stuart at their Canterbury Road home.
Worcestershire coroner Victor Round said the retired cleaner, who was married but separated, had died of pneumonia with contributory congestive cardiac failure.
"She had a three-year history of mild dementia and confusion," he said, adding she had not been seen by her GP for "some time".
Home Office pathologist Klaus Chen had been unable to find a cause of death at first but made the discovery following further studies.
Police have released a man arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, February 24 and have confirmed they are no longer treating the incident as suspicious.
