THE service marking the Women's World Day of Prayer takes place at St James' Church at 7.30pm. The theme is 'Holy Spirit, Fill Us' and is planned by Christian women in Lebanon. The children of Callow End School choir will be taking part.
The next meeting of the Powick and Callow End Branch of the Royal British Legion will be held at the Madresfield Club on Tuesday at 8.15pm (with the committee meeting at 7.45pm). At the February meeting tribute was paid to the late Mrs Betty Wyatt of Powick who will be remembered for the sterling work she did on behalf of the women's section of the Royal British Legion. Betty was chairman for many years under Mrs Spreckley's presidency. She was active in the community and was Poppy organiser for many years.
