AN American's kind eye for the eccentricities of Britain form the basis of a show at Malvern Theatres.
Bill Bryson's bestselling book Notes from a Small Island has been adapted for the stage.
Steve Steen stars in the production, which comes to the Forum on Thursday, March 20, as part of a national tour.
Bryson came to Britain as an impoverished tourist and fell in love with its Hitler landladies, weather, food and the fact that we "mustn't grumble".
Before returning to the States he undertook a seven-week tour of the country by public transport as a form of fairwell and his musings form the basis of the book.
Steen is a regular on the comedy improvisation show Whose Line is it Anyway? and has just finished touring in Danny's Wake with Jim Sweeney.
Notes from a Small Island has been adapted by Paul Hodson, who also adapted Nick Hornby's Fever Pitch for the stage and is lead writer for Sky TV's youth drama series Dream Team.
