PANCAKES were flipping across the Malvern area as Shrove Tuesday was marked with races.
At Colwall Village Hall, around 80 people gathered for a battle of the Women's Institutes on Saturday.
Colwall, Bosbury, Ledbury, Mathon and Cradley WI members raced around the village hall car park, with Cradley taking the title from last year's winners, Colwall.
The event also featured a children's race, which organiser Mary Storey said boosted the attendance figures.
"It went very well," she said. "We made a reasonable amount of money, £142, for WI funds."
On Tuesday, it was the turn of staff and students from Malvern Girls' College as they adopted the theme of 'Karnival' for their annual fancy dress race around the school's Quad.
Pancakes were sold for 20p each and teams paid £10 to race around the quad, tossing a pancake at each corner before passing the pan on to the next team member.
By the end of the event girls and staff had munched their way through about 400 pancakes and had raised about £200 for the Macmillan Nurses.
