MALVERN Ladies Football Club entertained Worcester City Ladies in a league match on Sunday at Victoria Park.

MALVERN LADIES FC 1, WORCESTER CITY LADIES 2

Malvern started brightly but failed to convert their chances into goals.

In first half injury time the referee overruled the linesman's flag for offside and the Worcester forward fired past Sharon Coxhead in the Malvern goal.

The second half saw Malvern doing most of the attacking and they were rewarded in the 60th minute. Good battling and a cross from Tracey Evans was fired home by Sam Shail, after a goal mouth scramble, to equalise.

Malvern continued to do most of the attacking but found themselves behind after 82 minutes when a long clearance from the Worcester defence opened the Malvern back line and was powerfully finished by the visiting striker.

Malvern continued to press on for the equaliser but failed to find the net despite all their possession.

Flick Slater and Kate Boulton both had good games for Malvern.

On Sunday (March 9) Malvern Ladies FC, who are sponsored by First Floor Flooring, entertain Evesham United Ladies in a league match at Victoria Park, Malvern, kick off 2pm.
