THIS local derby was played at a fast and furious pace, the West conceded home advantage to get the game played.
WEST MALVERN 1, LANGLAND SPORTS 3
Due to continuous rain on Friday the West ground was waterlogged and it was decided to switch the game to Victoria Park.
This was always going to be a difficult game for the West and the first half created few chances for either side, Stuart Harvey going close for Langland and Lee Tracey going close for the West.
The second half the deadlock was broken in the 60th minute when from a corner that was partially cleared Langland's centre half fired home.
In the West rallied and pushed men forward and paid dearly. A shot into the box got deflected and struck the keeper in the face and left a Langland's forward the easiest job of scoring.
The West came back and put the Langland goal under pressure and Ken McEwan headed home from close range. Although they pushed men forward, a shot for substitute Alan Green hit the bar, they paid dearly when once again Langland broke and with keeper Matty Powell in no man's land Langland scored with ease.
Tomorrow (Saturday) West Malvern, sponsored by Amey, have a reversed fixture when they now travel to New Inn, Pershore. Players meet Blue Bell 1pm for a new kick off time of 2.15pm.
