A WOMAN will celebrate turning 60 by fulfilling a teenage dream and wing-walking for charity.
Judy Giles, of Stretton Grandison, will be strapped to the wing of a plane at Rendcomb aerodrome, Ciren-cester, and take to the air.
The closest Mrs Giles has got to wing walking is watching old Hollywood movies like Flying Down to Rio.
Mrs Giles said: "I've wanted to do this since I was 14. My husband Ronald thinks I'm mad. But I'm one of these strange ladies.
"I took out a motorbike licence a few year ago and told nobody in my family. No one spoke to me for a few days afterwards.
"I'm calling this Judy's Flight of Fancy."
The wing walk will take place on April 9, just three days before Mrs Giles' 60th.
To make it on to the wing, she has had to join the airfield's resident aerobatics club. She is now officially a member of the Aerosup-erbatics St Ivel's Utterly Butterly Wing Walking Team.
But Mrs Giles' only chance for advance instruction, before she's put into the harness, will be the teach-in she will get some 30 minutes before taking to the air.
She hopes her daring feat will help to raise £3,500 for the Hereford-based Martha's Trust charity, which helps profoundly and multiply handicapped young people aged13 to 20.
Mrs Giles became aware of the charity through the Pets for Therapy organisation with which she is involved. With her dogs, she visits Martha's Trust youngsters every Thursday, to give them the joy of being close to animals.
The money she will raise will go towards the cost of a specially adapted computer which can be used by the disabled youngsters.
The total will be boosted through a slap-up meal at The Feathers Hotel, Ledbury, on Mrs Giles' birthday, April 12, which will be attended by at least 58 friends and family.
She said: "I have requested no presents, just donations."
