A change has been made at the Unicorn Hotel during the past few days in the removal of the wall which faced the Caf Royal. Now the space is open and the appearance of this part of Belle Vue Terrace has been decidedly improved. Another improvement has been carried out, the repair of the steps in front of Lyttelton House, leading to and from the Priory Churchyard. The steps in their worn-out condition were decidedly dangerous in wet or frosty weather. Malvern Gazette, March 6, 1903.

SATURDAY, February 28, 1953, will long be remembered by members of Malvern Welsh Society as the occasion of its first annual dinner in commemoration of St David. The function, at the Bronsil Hotel, Eastnor, was attended by some 40 or so members. Malvern Gazette, March 6, 1953.

There were about 150 people at the Ledbury Town Football Club dance at the Royal Oak on Friday, when Miss Patricia Carter of Long Acres was chosen to represent the club in the Malvern League Football Queen contest, Miss Eileen Pontor was a close runner-up. Ledbury Reporter, March 13, 1953.

Comedian Tommy Trinder, who was to have appeared in Shaw's Pygmalion at the Malvern Festival, has dropped out because he hasn't time to learn the part. The role will instead be played by Bill Owen. Mr Trinder was billed to appear as Alfred Doolittle, Eliza's father. Malvern Gazette, March 9, 1978.

It's open at last! After over 12 months people can again take the plunge in Ledbury Swimming Pool. The pool was closed for the third time in its short life last February for repairs to lifting tiles. Repair work costing about £7,500 started six months ago. Strong public protest failed to achieve any temporary repairs to get the pool open for the summer at least. Ledbury Reporter, March 9, 1978.
