Stourport Swifts manager Dave Titterton was an animated spectator as he watched his side settle for a 1-1 draw against a dour Cirencester Town side in the Dr Martens Western Division.
Boss Titterton, forced to watch the game from the stand after being handed a two-match touchline ban, was fuming as chance after chance went begging for the Walshes Meadow side before the Gloucestershire visitors grabbed an undeserved equaliser late on.
On another day Richard Ball could have helped himself to a hat-trick against a side mauled 4-0 when Swifts visited the West Country back in December.
He chipped an effort just over the bar in the first half and was then denied three times by goalkeeper Mark Hervin after the break.
While some may argue that a striker linked with Nationwide Conference giants Yeovil Town should have had something to show for his efforts, at least Ball was in the right place at the right time.
He also had a crucial hand in Stourport's goal on 61 minutes. Tim Nicholls won the ball in midfield before sending John Shirley on a powerful run at the Cirencester defence.
He then spotted Ball in the clear and although the striker's shot was again blocked by Hervin, he squared the rebound to Kerry Giddings who tapped into the empty net.
With Hervin's heroics keeping Swifts at bay for the next ten minutes, it was a cruel blow when the visitors struck a 73rd minute equaliser.
The home defence failed to clear a corner and former Cheltenham Town striker Gareth Hopkins shot home via the upright.
The Swifts manager threw his notes to the floor in frustration. It just about summed up the feeling of those sitting with him in the stand.
