THERE is little point taking a stand if you don't get the credit for it.

So Richard Taylor was a little aggrieved to see that one national newspaper had wrongly listed the size of last week's rebellion against Tony Blair's handling of the Iraq crisis at 198 MPs.

The name missing from the list was his. This week he put the record straight.

In a letter to The Guardian, he said: "The vote in favour of the amendment that the case for war is not yet made was 199, not 198 as you stated.

"The missing vote was mine. It may not be important to you, but it matters to the people of Wyre Forest."
